Chery has triumphed in the demanding Taklimakan Rally's T2 Production Vehicle class once again. This win marks the third time that Chery has excelled in this event, occupying the top spot on the podium in both 2019 and 2023. The Tiggo 8 has been a national sensation since its launch in 2022, so this accomplishment is not surprising.

Chery used a basic Tiggo 8 Pro with all-wheel drive to compete in this Dakar-style rally. The SUV was purchased straight out of the Chery factory, with the exception of a roll cage, extra fuel tanks, and larger off-road tyres.

The rally, dubbed "The Game of the Brave," takes place across 4 377km of the harshest terrain, including the jagged gullies and oceans of sand in the Gobi desert. The majority of the racers participate in the T1 class, which is for specially designed or modified race cars with space frame bodywork and off-road suspension systems.

As they travel hundreds of kilometres every day for all the classes, the drivers and their teams are put to the ultimate test in harsh weather and high temperatures. Fortunately, while racing over this harsh terrain, Chery's factory driver, Tao Pengfei, and his co-driver could take advantage of all the creature comforts, including dual-zone climate control and electrically adjustable seats.
